INTERNATIONAL BABY AND TODDLER SWIMMING CONSULTANT. QUALIFIED UK ASA, STA AND SWIM AUSTRALIA TUTOR, TRAINER, SPEAKER & WRITER
ABOUT JULIE-ANN JAMES
The method of teaching used by Julie-Ann James and Aquababies Global was first pioneered in Australia during the 1960s. Julie-Ann James was in fact one of the first children to be taught this way and she went on to be a competitive swimmer. Training 4 hours a day takes drive and dedication which lead to a life time passion for swimming.
Julie-Ann James spent many years researching baby swimming to create a program to educate parents how to teach their children, with health & safety being one of the main objectives.
She then took this revolutionary technique to the UK in 1991 where she launched the first specialist Baby and Toddler swimming company and since than has opened schools in 16 countries.
Her style and programs have been often imitated, but seldom equalled.
With over 30 years of expertise and knowledge Julie-Ann is as passionate about providing quality programs to help other companies to evolve, now with the support of her team of consultants providing an International service helping baby swim schools to be the best they can be.
Julie-Ann’s work is also on dry land too, with requests to be an ambassador and speak at conferences both in the UK, Australia, and around the world. For example:
- Julie-ann was invited to be the Huggies Swim Nappy Ambassador which involved travelling to various locations around the UK teaching.
- Julie-Ann was invited as a Key Note speaker at the ASCTA, Swim Australia Convention in Brisbane, Australia.
- She has also been invited to speak at the EAA (European Aquatic Association) Aqua fitness conference in Florence, Italy
- Guess Speaker in, Lisbon and Porto For Aquatraining Portugal
The aim of such events is mostly to learn, network, share experiences, challenge perspectives and to celebrate achievements.
Wherever Julie-Ann is based, at the heart of all that she does remains the same. It is the passion to help parents and their children that motivated her in the first instance to teach babies to swim.
“I am grateful to have found my true vocation! I have been privileged to share my knowledge to make a significant impact on the swimming industry globally. I love to research the latest trends to evolve and create new Aqua concepts to ensure that families experience the numerous physical and mental health benefits gained by both parent and child whilst exploring the water together. ”
